This project will benefit 11 800 Indians from the four indigenous communities (Tapéba, Tremembé, Jenipapo Kanindé, Piataguari) and it will allow :
- The training of 80 indigenous teachers and of 40 association representatives from the 4 indigenous groups
- The development of new and more suitable teaching aids aimed at informing and implicating the Indian communities in the protection and the promotion of their rights
- The launching of awareness campaigns concerning the rights of the Indians, aimed at the general public
- The setting up of the first monitoring group in Brazil dedicated to the registering of human rights abuses of Indians, as well as the alerting of public opinion and the authorities
This project is conducted in collaboration with the FUNAI
do Céarà (Fundaçao Nacional do Indio do Céarà).
