The underprivileged populations are marginalized also because they have no access to credit. Giving them the possibility to obtain micro-credits to finance their subsistence activities is certainly important. However, ADER maintains that access to normal credit plans, with standard interest rates in the normal market conditions of the country concerned, is a strategic objective and a major factor of development.
The mechanisms allowing access to housing loans and business credit plans within our programmes are therefore designed to become autonomous and finally repeatable. Access to credit allows these populations to improve their living conditions in the field of housing, subsistence activities or even economic ventures.
In this area, a pragmatic approach and the ability to set up the suitable financial facilities are two essential elements.
Setting up a regular savings scheme, in advance of the credit allocations, is an essential element in the credit programmes, whether they be short, medium, or long term. |
