Poverty entails the social and economic exclusion as well as the extreme vulnerability of the populations concerned. The acquisition of knowledge and skills allows them to obtain their social and economic rights and procures them human dignity. It promotes the integration of the needy into civil society as responsible and active citizens.

ADER's approach

By acquiring and consolidating their abilities and skills, the underprivileged populations obtain general and technical knowledge allowing them to become autonomous. By the means of a long term development approach, these populations become active contributors to their own development.

"Capacity building"

Capacity building aims at involving and giving responsibility to the vulnerable populations concerning :

  • The setting up, the development and the human, business and financial management of a project as well as the monitoring of its implementation.
  • Credit systems expertise : awareness of the need for saving schemes and the workings of credit plans.
  • Civil society : its role, the procedures of organisation and participation.
  • The role of women : knowledge and protection of their rights.
  • The protection of fundamental rights : access to land, water, etc.

Technical training programmes

Technical training programmes are a part of professional projects. Through the acquisition of skills, the underprivileged populations become active members in the economic development, generating jobs and wealth, notably concerning :

  • Construction, water supply and solar energy.
  • Income generating activities (sewing, weaving, alternative agriculture, etc.).
